Today I wanted to introduce a new feature that we’re trying out and it’s called Sister Rivalry! My sister and I have been running separate blogs for a while and it suddenly dawned on us that we haven’t done a joint post at all!
My sister LeaLea is a total Fashionista and you can find all her cool and quirky outfits and DIY posts on her wicked blog over at www.lealeaho.co.uk.
Anyway back to the feature, despite it being called Sister Rivalry, there is nothing competitive about it whatsoever, just two silly sisters getting together to do something fun! The idea is simple, we pick a theme and we both run away and do a post based on it. We then post and link to each others posts to share with you all! This week is a simple FOTD Post, but we plan to incorporate Outfit posts, DIY, Wishlists and more in the coming weeks to mix it all up!
So whenever you see this stamp you will know it’s time for another Sister Rivalry Post!
So to kick start it all, we have chosen to do a FOTD based on Autumn 13 Beauty Trends. I have opted to go for a simplistic, Smokey/Smudged Kohl liner look which can be slightly grungey if you play it up. However I have gone for a more wearable and dialled down take on this trend.
This is my inspiration here. I love the Smokey finish, however I was too scared to go so heavy handed all the way around my eyes. In case you’ve not noticed, I have teen weeny eyes, and I was worried that framing my eyes will make them appear even smaller!
URBAN DECAY NAKED 2 PALETTE/GLOSS
SLEEK KAJAL EYELINER
DOLLY CURLING MASCARA
ELF KOHL EYELINER
MISSHA UNDEREYE BRIGHTENER
BOBBI BROWN BB CREAM
SLEEK GLO FACE & BODY HIGHLIGHTER
For this look I kept the skin looking matte and velvety by using my Bobbi Brown BB cream and setting it with some translucent powder. I skipped the blusher but added some definition to the cheekbones by dusting on some bronzer.
To create the eyes, first I applied a little bit of “Half Baked” eyeshadow from my Naked palette to my whole lid. Then I used Sleek Kajal Eyeliner to line my upper and lower lash line and then smudged it out using an eyeshadow brush. I brought the eyeliner out to create a smokey effect. Next I used my elf Kohl liner line my lashes for a more defined finish.
Big, bold brows are set to be a big trend for Autumn/Winter 2013 so I tried to thicken mine with an eyebrow pencil and brushed out the lines for a more natural finish. I left my lips nude to keep the balance, I think a slick of gloss was enough to finish the look perfectly.
To see what Autumn Look my Sister Lea Lea created check out her post HERE. She is a lot more adventurous than I am so expect to see some bold looks! :)
What do you think guys? I hope you enjoy this feature, let me know what you think!
