What it looks like on
I am wearing only the CC Cream plus my usual eyeliner and brow make up in the photo below

Here is my complete make up face
I recently purchased The Face Shop Aura Colour Control Cream after reading yet another review by Elisa at Memorable days. I swear her blog is draining my back account! Lol!
I was really intrigued by this product and couldn’t wait to try it for myself. I bought it from cosmetic-love.com the same site that I also got my SKINFOOD Black Bean Eyebrow Pencil (READ REVIEW HERE).
The CC cream comes packaged in a round compact, that in my opinion is rather large for size! I took a photo next to a Mac Blush so you see the comparison, however this doesn’t take away from what a good product it is.
So what’s the difference between CC and BB Cream you wonder?
Well from what I’ve been reading, a CC cream is a more refined version of BB creams, with improved properties to treat and cover uneven skin tone. It contains nourishing ingredients for more effective coverage and finish. The CC cream also has a more light weight texture compared to BB Creams and blends in better with skin tones. A common problem I’ve had with BB Creams is finding one that doesn’t give me a grey cast. CC Creams are also known for their high SPF Ratings to protect from damaging UVA/UVB rays.
This particular CC cream by The Faceshop describes their product as:
“A Colour Control Cream that creates a radiant and clear makeup appearance as if the skin is being spotlighted”
According to The Faceshop this CC Cream provides 3 cosmetic benefits including:
- Wrinkle care
- Sun Screen (SPF 30)
The Faceshop Aura CC cream looks like a weird contraption but it’s really simple to use, there’s a button that you press to pump the product out through the opening in the centre. This compact is reusable and you are able to purchase separate refill cartridges for it. Inside the compact comes a pad/sponge for application, but I prefer to use a foundation brush as it seems to waste less product and gives a more even finish. You also don’t need a lot of the product, I’ve found 1-2 pumps is enough for my whole face.
The consistency of the product is lovely, it’s a bit thicker than my average foundation but it is still feels light on the skin and blends well. There are two shade variations and I went for 02 Natural Beige. I think the colour blends into my skin quite nicely but I think because we’ve been seeing a bit of sun the past few weeks, my skin is somewhat darker than it would be in the Winter, so it may be a better match for me in the colder months.
I love how dewy it makes my skin looks! It definitely brightens up the complexion a right treat and the skin looks much softer, smoother and more even in tone. For day’s where I want a more glowy look I tend to wear it as it is, but I do find that it can leave the skin looking a little shiny throughout the day, so I like to set it with a translucent powder to keep it in place. Even though the compact is maaahooosive, the refill cartridge is actually not that big, at a guess I think this will last me a good 2-3 months. I will definitely be considering buying this again though as I love the finish it gives.
You can buy this CC Cream from cosmetic-love.com for £15. They do worldwide shipping too, and their delivery times are reasonable, it took just over a week for my order to reach me in the UK.
What do you think guys? Have you tried a CC cream yet? Let me know which ones would love to check them out!
Thanks for reading!
