Last week I was lucky enough to be sent the Enrapture Encode Totem Hair Styler to review, and to be honest I had absolutely no idea what this styler did until last week! However a quick browse on the Enrapture website and I was hooked! Also Islay from www.islaay.com had tweeted me a photo of her hair that made my jaw drop to the ground in envy! I have not been this excited about a hair styler since the first GHD’s were launched!
They finally arrived last Friday and I have been inseparable with it since! It is the perfect styler to create a wide variety of different looks!
So to tell you a little bit more, I assume that it’s called “encode” due to the coding functionality of the styler. You basically have a dial with 3 different settings. 3 being the hottest (tight curls) and 1 being the coolest (loose curls). Each dial controls the temperature of the corresponding zones of the styler, so Top dial = Top of Styler, so on so forth. The best part is that you can mix and match different combinations to create your own perfect curl!
There are also other ways to customise your own curl too! You have the option of either using the styler as a curling wand in which case you just wrap the hair around the barrel. Or you can clip the hair in the mini flipper for tighter, spiral curls!
I’ve always wanted to create soft and loose curls, so I decided to set my styler to the combination of 1.1.2. Here is the curl I managed to achieve with this setting!
The above photo showed my hair before and after I separated the curls, as you can see in the second photo the curls are lot more relaxed and wavy after I had run my fingers through them gently!
I was blown away by the results and can not stress how easy it is to use! It heated up in next to nothing time and I managed to complete the whole look in a neck breaking speed!
What I found about this styler also, is how glossy it made my hair look! I don’t know how it managed to do that because all tongs/curlers I’ve used in the past have almost always fry my hair a little, leaving the ends quite dry and frazzled! Not with this one though, just perfectly formed, glossy curls all the way!
The curls lasted really well too, I slept on it, expecting to wake up to a mad mane, but was surprised to find that all I needed was a quick ruffle through with my fingers to restore some lovely waves! Obviously it had dropped a little at this point but it still looked pretty decent!
Overall I give this styler a massive thumbs up and I strongly recommend you give this one a go! I believe this retails at £60 and you can them in most department stores like Boots, Debenhams or Argos.
There are lots more looks that I am yet to discover with this styler and I can’t wait to start playing about with it more to see what other styles you can create!
Until next time lovelies!
