EDIT UPDATE: I’VE DECIDED TO DO A VIDEO TUTORIAL ON THIS STYLER GUYS, PLEASE CHECK IT OUT HERE:
I have long, long hair… and although I love the length that it is, sometimes I can’t help but wish it wasn’t so flat and lifeless! It’s got to a point where it’s so heavy, it just drags itself down!
So when I received the Remington Keratin Therapy Pro Volume for review I was over the moon! It promised big volume and curls whilst caring for the hair with its new Keratin Therapy formula. According to Remington this collection of styling tools all contain Keratin Micro conditioners that transfer to your hair as you style! Sounds good!
So how does the Pro Volume styler work?
Well, the styler has two settings to suit your hair depending on how thick or thin you hair is so you can adjust accordingly. I have super thick hair so I used it on the full which is 180°C. So you would use it like you would a roller and unlike the Babyliss version this one heats up rather than blows air like a dryer. The styler also has a release button that loosens the brush head when pressed so that the hair can glide out your hair easily during use! Great!
So this morning I decided to try to transform my limp, lifeless locks into a voluminous, mane of bouncy hair and I have to be honest, I was more than impressed with the results! The Remington Pro Volume gave my hair lots of volume and lovely looking loose waves!
So this is how I created the above look…
STEP ONE: BRUSH
Make sure to brush your hair through to get rid of any tangles in your hair, if not your hair may get stuck in the styler and that is NOT much fun! I used the Remington Paddle brush which is also infused with the clever Keratin Therapy formula! l love the size of this brush! Nice and big for my long hair!
STEP TWO: SECTION HAIR
I worked from the bottom up and started with the bottom layers first. Simply clip or tie the rest of the hair out the way before you begin.
STEP THREE: CURL AND LEAVE FOR 15 SECONDS
Start on one side of hair and work around the head until you have curled all sections. I split my bottom layers into 4 x 1 inch sections.
Take a section and use the styler as you would a roller and leave it in for about 15 seconds for the curl to form.
STEP FOUR: RELEASE CURL
To release the curl, hold down the release button and unwind the hair. The release button will unlock the brush head making it easier to pull through the hair. This part takes a bit a of practice and I’m not gonna lie, I did freak out a couple of occasions when I thought I got it stuck! But thank god the plates are coated with Keratin which means no damage was done! Phew!
STEP FIVE: CURL MID SECTION
Once you’ve curled all your bottom layers, you can start with the mid section. Again tie up the rest for later.
STEP SIX: CURL TOP SECTION
Almost there! To get lots of volume I curled the top section of my hair backwards away from myself (see image below). This lifts the hair at the roots giving it a fuller and bouncier look!
FINAL STEP: CURL YOUR FRINGE
Finally finish off the look by slightly tucking in the fringe. Place the hair on the styler, gently roll under and allow to set.
FINALLY THE THE RESULTS!
I’m really pleased with the results! Does exactly what it says, BIG, VOLUMINOUS hair! I also noticed that the ends of my hair doesn’t appear to look dry and frazzled like it does when I use regular tongs so that’s a big bonus! Must be the keratin working its magic!
This styler is available for £24.99 (RRP £29.99) from the Remington Website however it was out of stock this morning when I checked. Thankfully you can pick up one of these from most highstreet stores and I believe Boots have it on offer at the moment for £22.99!
So what do you think guys? Will you be giving it a whizz?
Thanks for reading!
